About Nii
Georgia-based Nii Addo Ankrah has loved art since infancy. A self-taught mixed media artist who rekindled his passion after years of steering into the performing arts, music, and video production.
He was born in an artistic environment with siblings and cousins all experimenting and playing with different mediums of art. They played with fabrics, sawdust, ceramic, paper mache oils, and acrylics, creating mixed media, sculptures, and different types of paintings
After his education in Ghana where he was born, Nii Addo Ankrah took an interest in video and music production which he became successful at. His artistic talents came in handy however his initial passion for visual art kept knocking.
After moving to the US in 2012, he spent most of his free time attending art shows and visiting art galleries in New York. This sparked his childhood passion and started experimenting with new contemporary styles with the sawdust fabrics and acrylics he played with as a child.
He has now developed a unique Mixed Media style with colorful reliefs of sawdust, fabrics, and acrylics which has gained him the attention of a wide range of collectors.
